What I took from the panel

there were common themes in all the answers to the questions. i found it enlightening that everyone had the same responses and each panelist was able to go off of the previous answer. this made me think. we all have the same problems. each chapter does have their own individual, unique problems but each questioned asked about having a problem in the greek community all the panelists had a similar answer. even though were individual chapters we still have similar problems within the greek community. i feel that we can learn from each other and each chapter can help other chapters in their problems. i'm sure whatever problem arises in a chapter another chapter has already had the same problem and has a good solution to the problem. WE SHOULD ALL HELP EACH OTHER.

Oath?

Who takes oath's anymore? When I think of an oath I think of some army members in the 1770's pledging their loyalty to the army or something. I think of an oath as being very formal and something of the past but as I googled the meaning I came across a different thought. An oath is like a committment. Committments happen every day. A person literally commits to something every day whether it be committing to go to class or something more serious such as committing to marriage. A committment is a modern day oath.
The day we pledged our loyalty to our Fraternities and Sororities we took an oath to uphold the standards of our respective chapters. We committed to our chapters to be the best members we could be. Our Fraternities Ode to a Pledge reminds me of our best example of an oath. It's a pledge that we take to embrace the future of our Fraternity and realize our actions directly effect the outcome of our Fraternity which is just what an oath to me is.

Ode to a Pledge - "Yesterday is gone forever, tomorrow is yet to be. The destiny of Pi Kappa Alpha, rests today with thee."

Incongruencies Round 2

BADDDDDDDDDDDDD

What is wrong with our chapter and what can we do to change it. Our mission statement is based on helping ourselves, our school, and our community. We don't nearly do enough community service. Each brother is only required to do 10 hours of community service a quarter. WE COULD DO SO MUCH MORE. I think we should have a goal of 25 hours each quarter. When we committ ourselves to our community then the community is so much better as a whole. Internally we don't always get along with each other. People talk behind each others back and it really creates a rift in our chapter. Doing these actions do not better ourselves it only ends up hurting us. We've had so many verbal fights because of these behind the back actions. It's really pathetic. Sometimes we NEED TO SWALLOW OUR PRIDE AND DO WHAT'S BEST FOR THE CHAPTER.
